How Red Can You Go?

Hopefully this is the most embarrassing thing that happens to me today....It all started as I was walking out of my last class on a Friday afternoon. I thought to myself, man I would really love a treaty type drink right now. So I wondered into Cafe Ibis, which is this small little coffee shop on campus, and ordered my usual lavender Italian cream soda. The kid behind the counter seemed friendly. As he mixed my drink we started having a fun little conversation. I unzipped my back pack and reached for my wallet to, as normal people do, pay for my purchase. So, maybe I'm not good at keeping track of things. Maybe I never found my wallet. Maybe the kid thought I was trying a very strange new flirting technique. Maybe some of you can imagine how red my face was. Luckily the kid was nice enough to make a few jokes about it...I am pretty sure he could tell how embarrassed I was. I promised to bring the money by on Monday...let's all hope I don't forget.

Time to Shift Gears...

Logan winters can get pretty dang freaking cold. At least this year we got tons of snow to go along with the cold, so we got to go skiing. However, I think it is only fair every now and then to dream about the days of spring. Today I finally got to RIDE MY BIKE to work without having to worry about...
A: spinning out on a patch of ice
B: snowflake vision
C: having to ride in the middle of the road because of the snowbanks
D: getting scooped up by a snowplow
E: my hands freezing directly to the handle bars
F: everyone's favorite..that line of dirty water, mud, snow that splashes up a perfect outer butt crack on your pants.

It took half the amount of time to ride my bike to work than it usually takes to walk. It made me remember just how much I love riding bikes around town, especially Logan town. Right now I actually own three "around town" bikes...all of which probably aren't worth as much change as you could fit in your pocket. However, I can't seem to part with any of them. I keep telling myself maybe this summer I will have enough money to fix them up. For those of you that know me well, we all know I will most likely be in this exact same situation this fall. The whole point of this post is, a friend of a bike is a friend of mine.... unless they are total jerks.

Do It For The World...

Enjoying the warm desert with a few friends. Jumping, falling, laughing, and walking through the sandy river bottom of Snow Canyon. Alissa, Madi, Tyler, Austin, Jameson, and me. Happy Presidents' Day.

2007/08 Banff Mountain Film Festival International Tour

Last night The Banff Film came through Logan. I work at the ORC now, so I got to help with the raffle and all that stuff, it was fun. The films they showed made me want leave this town, pack up and adventure to the farthest village I could find. There was a Chris Sharma world tour film, a tele across the universe bit, and a few other colorful, creative adventures. Way to go Banff.

Pretty Little Girl...

Maybe you have seen this before. I just couldn't resist....
This is my new itty bitty niece. Her name is Liv. I made her this hat before she was born. Apparently I thought she was going to be the biggest newborn in Hackett history. Hopefully she grows into it before the weather warms up too much. If not, i suppose it makes a fun wig.
